Victoria Sponge Bake Day – Baking a Difference in the Battle Against Cancer

Saturday 14th June (The Baking continues until the 21st June)

We all love cake and none more so than Victoria, who died of cancer earlier this year at the age of 29.

Victoria took up baking in the last year of her life, it gave her huge pleasure creating cakes and sharing them with family and friends. So we have launched Victoria Sponge Bake Day to raise funds for the charity formed in her memory, VICTORIA’S PROMISE.

Victoria’s driving desire throughout her fight with cancer was not only to beat the disease and live to spend her time with her husband and raise a family.  She wanted to use her positivity and energy to find a way to help support others through their battle with cancer. That was her promise.

Victoria did not survive her cancer but through the charity VICTORIA’S PROMISE we will fulfill her dream and fund cutting edge research undertaken by Professor Justin Stebbing and his team, as well as support patients in whatever way they need during their treatment and beyond, in cases where cancer has marred their life.

Help fulfil Victoria’s dream, a dream we all have, and bake a cake, share it with family, friends, and colleagues, enjoy your time together and please donate £3.00 for each slice shared to

Businesses, retail outlets, café’s and restaurants can also help to raise funds by serving Victoria Sponge Cake to clients and staff, in canteens and staff rooms the week commencing 9th June

Every penny of every pound will be a step towards ensuring you and your loved ones can continue your journey through life together

Make sure you post a photo of you and your sponge cake – and Twitter #VPbakeday
